New revolver reload animation and sounds

Previously, I had hooked up more complex parts of Steam Audio for my audio simulation. This time, I decided to flesh out the reload animation on my revolver and add a few sounds for it. Here’s the finished version that I’ll be using in playtesting!

While authoring this animation, I was reminded that I’ll need to make a new hands/arms model and re-rig it. Right now, the hand is a little too hard to articulate, and the arm is too tube-like. Additionally, the timings are a bit fast, I’m still trying to find the balance between a reload animation that doesn’t take too long and realism. But this is a big step up from the suggestion of a reload animation I had previously. For now, this will be good enough for playtesting.

On the sound side, I used a couple different things: an AirPods Pro case (opening and closing the cylinder), nail clippers (the insertion sound), Xbox Elite Controller thumbsticks (bullet drop), and some metal tubes from IKEA salt and pepper shakers (bullet drop).

I want to add jump and landing sounds, followed by some bullet impact sounds. Then it’s time to set up the targets for the shooting gallery!
